Smalls SAL update

Two Garden Bunnies stitched for Love Quilts USA
A Dachshund for a Dog Quilt for World of Charity Stitching.

I've been working on a monthly series of cute little kittens, which I'll make into a wall hanging when they are finished.  I've enjoyed stitching these small charts.

And the November Snowflowers Diaries SAL.  Only one more to stitch for this year.  I plan to make all of these squares into a quilt for charity.

I've been doing some personal stitching for an upcoming grandson, Jayden Thomas, due any day now.  We are leaving on a trip to visit with the family and new grand baby, starting tomorrow.   Of course, I will be taking a couple of stitching projects along for the long ride to South Florida.

Smalls for October

I've been able to catch up on the Snowflower Diaries SAL and will start soon on the November chart, which is a beautiful peacock.

I've only done a couple of small geometric squares for a quilt for World of Charity Stitching.  Everyone picks out a chart or two and stitches in the colors they choose.

I've also started on a Dachshund piece for a future quilt.

More Progress on the Snowflowers Diary SAL

This Disney chart of Kiara from the Lion King took a while to finish.  It didn't have any back stitching, so I added it as best I could.  This was stitched for Love Quilts USA.

The August Snowflowers Diaries chart.  I'm currently working on September and have already downloaded the October chart, which has owls as the main focus.  The Lazy Daisy flowers in the August design were a pain, but I finally finished them-whew!

This is a chart I did just for fun.  It went really fast and I hope to make a tote bag or pillow for a senior for World of Charity Stitching with the square as a centerpiece.   I did a lot of the stitching while waiting for my hubby at a doctors appointment.

Slow Stitching after Vacation

I don't have a lot to post after our long vacation overseas.  There was so much to do when we got home: house cleaning, cleaning up the garden, bathing dogs and too many other duties to list.
This was stitched for World of Charity Stitching.  We are making a quilt of various houses; it will be donated to a senior citizen in a care facility.

These two bookmarks were stitched on scraps of Aida fabric.

I am working on the Snowflower Diaries SAL, but got a little behind and am almost finished August. The September chart has already been offered to the followers, so I need to do some catching up.

Vacation Stitching

Most of the stitching this month has been done either in the airport on the way to Germany, while in Germany or on the way home.  So glad I brought some stitching with me or I would have gone crazy(er) 😄.   Germany (Bavaria) and Paris have been nice to visit, but I can't wait to get back home to my regular life.

Smalls finished in June

The charts I finished for June technically aren't "small" but these are ones I enjoyed stitching this month.  I'm getting ready to go on a long trip overseas and am taking some stitching projects along with me.  I hope to be able to stitch in the airports and on the planes, but the rules and regulations are a bit confusing.  We'll see how it goes.   If nothing else, I'll be able to stitch in the evenings if I'm not too exhausted from all the sightseeing.

Stitching in the Spring

Spring is my favorite time of year - all the birds singing, finding mates, building nests, raising their brood, planting the garden and seeing new plants blooming.  I confess I don't do as much stitching in the spring as I do at other times of the year, but I am still able to stitch in the evenings.

I've started making some quilts for World of Charity Stitching, so my free time is more limited than before.  Even though I'm retired, there still aren't enough hours in the day for all the things I'd like to accomplish.

Here are some pieces I finished in May this year for Love Quilts and World of Charity Stitching.

April Stitching

This month I finished the April SAL at the Snowflower Diaries.  I've already downloaded the May chart and hope to start on it tomorrow evening.

I stitched this cute little wymsical owl for Love Quilts USA.

Tonight I finally finished the USA map (a free chart from Daily Cross Stitch).  Our group, World of Charity Stitching, is stitching a travel theme.  The pieces from various members will be made into a quilt (or quilts) for a senior in a care facility.

Don't know how April disappeared so fast, but I love the warm, springtime weather we are having lately and look forward to the warm, hot days of summer.

March Stitching

A few new pieces finished in March.  I've really enjoyed the SAL that the Snowflower Diaries has been having since January, and am currently working on the April chart.

I'valso been teaching a little girl, age 10, who showed interest in my stitching at the bowling alley.  She has already stitched a little tulip and has started on a little butterfly.  She is doing well and has stuck with it and seems to enjoy it.  She stays at my table stitching almost the whole time we are bowling (almost two hours). I hope she will continue to be interested in cross stitching.

February Stitching

This is the second in a year-long series of charts graciously given to stitchers by Maja of The Snowflower Diaries.  I have already started on March, which is very spring-like.
This cute little whimsical owl was stitched for Railey, a little girl who wanted owls for her quilt.  Love Quilts USA is putting together a quilt of whimsical owls.

I enjoyed stitching both of these charts.

The Snowflower Diaries SAL

This cute fox and crow chart is a freebie gift from Maja of The Snowflower Diaries.  She is gifting monthly charts to anyone who wishes to download and stitch them.

I am stitching these to be made into a quilt for a senior in a care facility.

I have already downloaded the February chart and hope to start on it very soon.

Stitchers can either stitch the charts on separate squares of fabric or on one whole piece of fabric.  I chose to stitch them separately, as I don't like to stitch on large pieces of fabric any longer.

December Stitching

A couple more finishes in December 2015.  Now on to the new year!  I've already started a new project for World of Charity Stitching.  We are doing a Sweet Things theme and I am stitching some hard candy.  I found the chart on Cyber-stitchers, where they have loads of free charts.

Love Quilts is re-vamping their organization with new leadership, so I'll have to wait to see what they come up with in the way of new themes for this new year.

2015 Stitching Projects

This is a collage of most of my 2015 stitching.  As you can see, I spend a lot of my free time stitching.  I've been cross stitching for over 30 years and I still enjoy it very much.

I hope to continue stitching until my hands and eyes won't allow it.  So far, my health has been good and I don't have problems with seeing the stitches or the charts. (I do use a very bright light which helps.)  My arthritis is only minimal, so I feel blessed to be able to continue to stitch for charity.
