I love to cross stitch for charity. My main focus since I retired in 2006 has been stitching and sewing for World of Charity Stitching and Love Quilts USA.

Traffic Signs Square for World of Charity Stitching
The ladies of World of Charity Stitching group are making squares for a modern transportation quilt to be given to a senior man in a nursing home. The quilt will be assembled by one of our talented quilters, Bonnie.
My contribution to this quilt is the traffic signs square I finished a couple of days ago. Still need to wash and press it and get it to Bonnie. She enjoys working on several quilts at a time and I know she stays busy.
The pattern is a new freebie from http://www.freepatternsonline.com, where there are some nice free patterns to chose from, if you like the free ones, and I do. However, I did a little bit of modification to one of the signs: made a "dead end" sign instead of another "one way" sign.
I am a thrifty person and enjoy saving money when I can. My husband is just the opposite - loves to spend - so it can get complicated sometimes.
I totally understand about the husband. He wants a $2000 motorcycle and I want a new pattern! Hmmmmmmm.
