This pillow was stitched and sewn as a special request for my group, World of Charity Stitching for Brandon, age 13, who was recently diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. Before he got sick, he was a very active teenager, playing baseball and doing all the things that boys do. His family is very religious, so our group wanted to do something special for when he has to be in the hospital for treatments. We made two pillows for him: one is the religious one I stitched; and one of the other group members made a special Sponge Bob pillow. He can take these when he has treatments at the hospital or for when he is just not feeling well at home. They have removable covers so they can be washed if needed.
We hope these special gifts will help Brandon and his family to cope during the trying days and weeks ahead.

Butterfly for Ila, A Little Angel
The beautiful swallowtail butterfly I stitched to be part of a quilt for a little girl named Ila will be given to her family when it is finished. Sadly, Ila passed away a few days ago before the quilt was finished. The Love Quilts ladies will be sending it to her family as a reminder that there are people who love others, even though they have never met.
It makes me sad to think of this little girl never growing up to marry, have a family of her own, and live a full life. But I know that Ila's family is thankful that she was a part of their lives for the time that God gave them.
This is a reminder to everyone (myself included) that life is short and we should all strive to help others and be the best person we can be.

Love Quilts Hummer for Christopher
This is a piece I finished for Love Quilts for a boy named Christopher. He loves anything military, especially the Marines. I changed the colors of the Hummer from bright yellow to camouflage green to make it more like a military vehicle.
