Scroll Square

Here it is almost June.  I can't believe the summer is upon us.  It was 98 degrees today.

I have been stitching, but I haven't posted lately what I've been doing.

Here is a Scroll Square that was designed for my group, World of Charity Stitching, by Kell of Kincavel Krosses.  I finished this one a couple of weeks ago.  Kell is a member of our group and was happy to design a square that the members could stitch to make a beautiful quilt.  The varieties of colors and color schemes is amazing. Our group is stitching 36 of these squares in various colors and the quilt will be created by Bonnie, one of our talented quilters.  The finished quilt will be delivered by Bonnie's daughter to a nursing home, where it will be loved by the senior who receives it.

I decided to stitch my square in shades of pink radiating from the center.  I had thought about using varieated threads and even bought two colors to try, but I did not use them at this time, as I was afraid it wouldn't look nice.  Maybe I'll try the new threads on a smaller piece for a tote bag.
