Butterflies Are Free

This cute little butterfly is a chart that was designed especially for my group, World of Charity Stitching.   It was designed by Iulia at http://www.lamatassinarossa.blogspot.com

This butterfly,  along with 35 others stitched by members of the group, will be made into a beautiful lap quilt for a senior lady at a nursing home.  Our quilter, Bonnie, has designed this quilt using a quilting computer program and when finished, will be displayed on our website:  http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/

I'm also currently stitching another butterfly, yellow colors this time.  The chart is easy to follow and quick to stitch.

"You Are Beautiful" for WOCS

I finished this piece this morning while sitting on the back porch, watching the butterflies and hummingbirds flitter from flower to flower.  They are so beautiful!

This chart was a freebie from the site, Carinne,  and I modified it a little bit to read, "You Are Beautiful."

This will be sewn on a tote bag and given to a young girl at a domestic violence shelter that is supported by my group, World of Charity Stitching.

If you ever want to stitch, sew, or quilt for our group, please join us in making the children and senior citizens smile.

Look What I Won-All the Way from the UK

I have been entering blog contests recently to win fabric or cross stitching supplies for my group, World of Charity Stitching.

Nicola, of StitchWorks, had a giveaway recently and her beautiful daughter hand-picked my name from several entries.  I received my package from the UK today and was so excited to open it to see what was inside.

Here is the wonderful variety of items that Nicola sent me:

Thanks so very much Nicola for your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Cute Little Kitten

I worked on this cute little kitten while sitting in the waiting room of a local hospital recently.  We have a friend who had a major stroke after having triple by-pass surgery.  He is still in intensive care and we visit as often as we can.  He is being moved to a rehab facility in the next day or two and we hope he will recover very soon.

My stitching helps keep me focused so I don't have a lot of time on my hands to worry about "what might happen".   I know that God is watching over my friend and will help heal him.

This little kitten was stitched for a child, Melissa B., one of the many Love Quilts children.   I hope to bring a little joy to the life of a sick child and her family.
