"You Are Beautiful" for WOCS

I finished this piece this morning while sitting on the back porch, watching the butterflies and hummingbirds flitter from flower to flower.  They are so beautiful!

This chart was a freebie from the site, Carinne,  and I modified it a little bit to read, "You Are Beautiful."

This will be sewn on a tote bag and given to a young girl at a domestic violence shelter that is supported by my group, World of Charity Stitching.

If you ever want to stitch, sew, or quilt for our group, please join us in making the children and senior citizens smile.

Look What I Won-All the Way from the UK

I have been entering blog contests recently to win fabric or cross stitching supplies for my group, World of Charity Stitching.

Nicola, of StitchWorks, had a giveaway recently and her beautiful daughter hand-picked my name from several entries.  I received my package from the UK today and was so excited to open it to see what was inside.

Here is the wonderful variety of items that Nicola sent me:

Thanks so very much Nicola for your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Cute Little Kitten

I worked on this cute little kitten while sitting in the waiting room of a local hospital recently.  We have a friend who had a major stroke after having triple by-pass surgery.  He is still in intensive care and we visit as often as we can.  He is being moved to a rehab facility in the next day or two and we hope he will recover very soon.

My stitching helps keep me focused so I don't have a lot of time on my hands to worry about "what might happen".   I know that God is watching over my friend and will help heal him.

This little kitten was stitched for a child, Melissa B., one of the many Love Quilts children.   I hope to bring a little joy to the life of a sick child and her family.

Time for Tea

I finished this square a couple of weeks ago for WOCS for our themed quilt, "Teapots", which will be given to a senior citizen (lady) during the upcoming holiday season.  I enjoyed stitching this piece, even though it had some 1/2 stitches (you can barely see them on the teapot right side).   This will be a beautiful quilt when it is put together by our wonderful quilter, Bonnie.

If you'd care to see some of our finished pieces as they come in, you can view our WOCS blog at http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/
The ladies have been stitching fast and furiously to complete several quilts for our charities.

A New Finish for WOCS

I stitched this cute little kitty a while back and recently made it into a tote for a child to be given to Favor House, a domestic violence shelter, in Pensacola, FL.   It will be filled with goodies for the upcoming holiday.

Lap Quilt Donated to a Friend of World of Charity Stitching

This beautiful lap quilt was created by Bonnie C., who makes some of our quilts for our group, World of Charity Stitching.   One of our members, Sharon M., has some medical problems and she also fosters many dogs throughout the year, so Bonnie had suggested our group donate this quilt to Sharon to make her feel special.  Sharon isn't able to cross stitch any longer due to her medical difficulties, but she is still a part of our group -  she creates cards to be given with our quilts to the senior citizens and the children who receive our gifts of love.  Anyone interested in our group can view our blog at
