More Summer Stitching

This beautiful heart will be sewn into a quilt for a senior lady, along with about 35 others made by the ladies of our group, World of Charity Stitching.  I used a variegated thread for this stitching project.  
All the hearts will be shades of reds, pinks, cranberry, etc.

This cute little Angel is a Love Quilts square I stitched for a little girl named Aleria.  Her quilt will be made of angels from stitchers from all over the world.

Some New Items Finished for WOCS

 A couple more finishes for World of Charity Stitching.    I stitched the horse silhouette recently and made it into a draw-string bag to give to a young boy for Christmas.  Our group donates totes, bags, backpacks, and quilts to the Favor House (a domestic violence shelter) and to the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola, FL.

The cupcake square will be part of a quilt of cupcakes (made by other members of my group) and will be donated to the Century Care Center, in Century, FL.

Cotton Blossom Farm - Fabric Winnings

 I try to enter as many contests as I have time and wanted to share with you my most recent winnings.  Cotton Blossom Farm was the sponsor of a recent contest and I won 10 fat quarters of beautiful children's fabrics.  I plan on donating these to my group, World of Charity Stitching, so they can be used to make a child's quilt for our charities.

Harry Potter Quilt for Love Quilts

I stitched up Hedwig for the upcoming quilt for Charlie.  These are free patterns that the members of Love Quilts are stitching to make a quilt for Charlie.


"Charlie has Asperger's along with the brain tumor, so he gets deeply involved with his interests. Charlie envisions his "bad cells" as Voldemort, with his body fighting them like Harry Potter and his friends with their wands. It's interesting to me how well HP "works" as his current obsession. HP and Voldemort were deeply connected- a little Voldemort in HP, so fighting one hurts the other (surgery and chemo).

And the big thing that struck me while reading the first book aloud with Charlie: Harry Potter was "the boy who lived," which is exactly what I want  Charlie to be.  Thank you all again. I am having a hard time communicating how much this means to us. The squares are coming along beautifully."

New Items for WOCS

These are some of the items I've been working on this summer.  I've not posted for a while, as we went on vacation recently to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.  It is certainly beautiful country out west, but we were glad to get back home again.

A Frog on the Pond

Another finish for Love Quilts for a young boy who wanted frogs on his quilt.  

This piece is a small part of approximately 29 other squares that will be made into a quilt for Thomas L.  The stitched squares are made by ladies from all over the country and then mailed to a central location to be crafted into a quilt for a sick child.   Check out Love Quilts if you are interested in helping bring a little comfort to a sick child.
