Wheelchair Bag

This is a Great Blue Heron piece I had stitched a while back and made into a  wheelchair bag for one of the senior men at Century Care Center.  I had a little bit of trouble with the pocket, but it turned out okay.  I used sew-on velcro for the straps to attach to the arms of the chair.

My First Altoid Tin Creation

Our group, World of Charity  Stitching, is making some of these Altoid tins for the seniors and children to put whatever they like inside.  This was my first try at one and it was a bit off-centered, so I asked for and received some excellent advise from the members of my group.  Someone had suggested putting a button, flower or some beads to help make it more centered.  I found this cute little rose that was donated to me by one of our group members a while back and it was perfect (thanks SharonM).  

I also received help in marking the cardboard piece and centering my next design so I won'thave to look for something to add.   Thanks to all the ladies who offered advice-without it I may have given up this little craft, but I think I can do this again.  I already have another small piece stitched and a tin ready to go.

Mouse Notebook Cover

I had stitched this little mouse for the notebook cover and had sewn part of it about two weeks ago; it was just sitting there waiting for me on my sewing table, so I got motivated this past week and finished sewing it.  It was a struggle, but I finally did it, with much muttering under my breath.   Don't know that I'll do another one anytime soon, but glad I am done with it.  This is a companion piece for the Mouse tote bag done about a month ago and will be given to a child at Favor House, a domestic violence shelter in Pensacola, FL. 

WOCS Featured in the Nordic Needle Newsletter

Our group, World of Charity Stitching, was recently featured in the Nordic Needle newsletter.  As a result, we have gained nine new members, which is  some kind of  record I believe.

New Tote Bag for Century Care Center, a Nursing Home in Century, Florida

I finished a new tote bag for CCC (love my new sewing machine!) today with the piece I had stitched recently, "Time for Tea", a freebie design created by one of our newest members of World of Charity Stitching, Kell of Kincavel Crosses. Thanks so much for this beautiful design, Kell; I am planning on stitching the sister of this one, "Tea, Drink of the Gods" to put on a tote or walker bag.

I added a little border to make it a little bit larger.

Here's the little Mouse tote bag that I stitched up today with my new Jenome sewing machine I purchased recently.  My older model Singer was giving me fits, so I broke down and bought a new machine.  It is wonderful and I even read the directions. 

The goodie tote bags will be given during the holiday season to the children at Favor House, a domestic violence shelter that World of Charity Stitching donates to.
