Blogoversary Coming Soon
I will be having my first blogoversary on August 5th and am planning a giveaway to celebrate one year of blogging. Boy, if anyone had asked if I would ever have a blog, I would have told them no, that's not something I would do. However, I have enjoyed sharing my "stitching journal" with others who might enjoy viewing the items I have stitched in the last few years.
So, for those interested in entering my contest, please visit again for more information, closer to the one-year date.

Stitching for Charity
My friend, Dona, recently purchased a large lot (412)cross stitch and needlework patterns and opened an Etsy shop to sell them. A percentage of each pattern sold will be
given to WOCS so that we can buy more fabric and make more items for seniors and children. Many of these patterns are out of print; most of them are beautiful
samplers. She has listed the first 99 - and is working on more.
Please visit Dona's store and send your friends there too. The name of the store is Stitching for Charity and here's a link.

You can also just go to shops on the front page and type in Stitching for Charity.

Golden Eagle for WOCS
This piece is one of several bird squares to be made into a lap quilt for a senior man at the Century Care Center. I know someone will love this quilt of various birds.
I started this Golden Eagle last Thursday and finished it tonight. I've been watching the Casey Anthony murder trial (taping it during the day) and watching while stitching at night. Sometimes, during testimony, I forget to stitch, as I get caught up in the horrific events that ended little Caylee's life. This is such a sad story of the shortened life of this beautiful little girl.
Two finished pieces for Love Quilts
These are two squares for Love Quilts that I mailed today. They've been finished for a couple of weeks, but I needed to wash and press them before mailing. One is for a theme called "Girls Will be Girls" and the other theme is "Pigs". I've already started on another LQ square for the Princess theme.
I enjoy stitching for charity because it is one way to give to others less fortunate. I feel blessed to have a healthy loving, family.

Two New Bookmarks for World of Charity Stitching
These two cute bookmarks were stitched quickly and I finished them by making a coordinating fabric frame around them. The red one is for a senior lady and the blue one is for a senior gentleman and will be given as gifts by our group, World of Charity Stitching. However, I did leave off one of the sayings on the left-hand side, as it seemed to make the bookmark too wide. I don't make a lot of bookmarks because I'd rather stitch larger pieces, but I thought these were so pretty.

Toy Train Engine for a Child's Lap Quilt
This is my contribution to a child's lap quilt. The theme is toys and there will be diverse stitching from the members of the group, World of Charity Stitching. Already stitched and posted to our group page is my train engine, a zebra, an elephant, and a neuclear family of robots. Can't wait to see what the quilter will do with these squares. I'm sure a child will just love it.
If anyone would care to take a look, our squares can be viewed on our blog at http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/
